Haver
A bit of a different type of project from my traditional creative work, but for the last few years, I have been very hands-on in renovating a 1953 Ralph Haver Home.
Ralph Haver was a well-known mid-century modern architect in the Phoenix area, and built several neighborhoods featuring his iconic ranch-style homes. The home was purchased from the family of the original owner, who purchased the home for just $12,000 in 1953. The raised 7 kids in a 2100 sqf home,
Before purchasing the home, we were asked to outline some of the plans and visions we had for the home. Once the family decided to move forward with our offer, the initial sketches were used to develop a full set of permit-ready architectural drawings. From there, the project completely transformed from a small renovation into a full-blown construction site.
I’ve been hands-on from start to finish, taking part in the design and planning process, managing the budget, coordinating contractors, and keeping the project on track. We've had to get scrappy, but even under tight constraints, we never sacrificed details, design, or quality.
